Excellent read, and pretty much all my reasons as well. I have fished all my life since probably 4 or 5 fishing from my uncle's pontoon boat at the cabin with a bamboo pole. Eventually moving up to the close faced Zebco, and finally the open face spincaster. Mostly Minnesota lakes when we rented a cabin or went camping catching sunfish, crappie, perch, northern, and an occasional walleye. I also lived in Alaska for a while so add halibut, salmon, grayling to the list. My wife and I took a weekend 2 years ago and went to the free Orvis fly fishing class in Lanesboro, MN on the Root River. We both caught a trout, and that was pretty much all I needed to buy a rod and reel. Didn't get Excellent read, and pretty much all my reasons as well. Last year my wife and I rented a camper cabin at Beaver Creek Valley State Park in Southeast Minnesota for a weekend. Beaver Creek is spring fed with the start of it right behind the cabin. My wife decided not to fish, so I did on my own. Fished up and down the creek for two days probably six or more hours, and caught one trout and lost one. Had a blast and already planning where to go this year.
